Combined Spacelabs Healthcare, Commtech system enhances alarm notification
ORLANDO—Spacelabs Healthcare and Commtech are providing an enhanced communication and alarm notification solution for Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital in Lafayette, La., which the companies jointly announced at the 2008 HIMSS conference this week.
The Spacelabs’ patient monitoring integrates with Commtech’s integrated alarm management (IAM) module to deliver critical information to mobile caregivers in a patient focused environment, said Joe Davin, group president of North American Operations at Spacelabs.
The integrated system architecture includes INTELPage paging transmitter, Commtech’s IAM and 7900 series alphanumeric pagers. Commtech said its solution has helped Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital achieve higher levels of patient safety through an automated safety net for secondary alarm notification.
