Healthcare information systems developer Computer Programs and Systems (CPSI) said that its medical practice electronic medical record (EMR) is certified to connect to the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange (PHIE) operated by SureScripts. The PHIE allows the secure, electronic transmission of new prescriptions and refills between physicians and pharmacists.

More than 95 percent of all U.S. pharmacies are certified on the PHIE and over two-thirds are processing prescriptions electronically, according to the Mobile, Ala.-based CPSI.
