Dell, Planar team to make Dell displays DICOM compliant
Dec. 3—Dell and Planar have partnered on the development of a Dome CXtra software version that can be loaded on Dell systems to make its monitors DICOM compliant.

According to Dell, the application provides its 24-inch and 30-inch widescreen flat-panel monitors with a framework for monitoring image quality during clinical viewing by adding the functionality of calibration. Dell said its DICal calibration allows users to calibrate select Dell desktop displays to conform to the DICOM curve, and offers conformance testing and options for viewing and tracking conformance data.

Users can also perform custom calibrations and conformance tests with the optional LCD II photometer from the Beaverton, Ore.-based Planar, according to Dell.
