Dictaphone, eMed integrate technologies
Dictaphone Corp.'s Healthcare Solutions Group and eMed Technologies have integrated the Dictaphone PowerScribe workstation v. 4.6 speech recognition application with eMed's Matrix Version 1.1 PACS.

The companies said the integration supports dual login, automatic dictation initiation, image/report synchronization, automatic screen synchronization of applications on the same desktop, and reduction in steps to complete the interpretation within both applications.

New features of Dictaphone's PowerScribe Workstation v. 4.6 include a web architecture, which is accessed through a browser-based user interface for dictation, correction and system administration. Additionally, Dictaphone's PowerMic offers easy USB "plug and play" capabilities, allowing ease of dictation directly from the eMed PACS workstation without the need for added sound cards.

eMed Matrix incorporates a powerful new platform based on smart client technology, an improved user interface, and peer-to-peer communication tools.
