GE to help tackle Medicaid changes with Centricity

GE Healthcare last week emphasized the potential of its Centricity Business (formerly IDX Flowcast) Managed Care Application as a tool to help improve administrative cost control and drive efficiency with automation and workflow improvements. These types of improvements are especially important in light of Medicaid programs that face changes, and were a large part of the discussion at the 14th Annual Medicaid Managed Care Congress in Baltimore, Md. last week, according to a release.

The Centricity Business Managed Care Application is designed to help Medicaid health plans increase efficiency and control costs by maintaining contracts, tracking and managing payments and eligibility, monitoring issues and helping customers produce timely and accurate claims payments. Additionally, GE offers a portfolio of HIPAA-compliant Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems, which enable organizations to electronically exchange data using industry standard formats for faster, more efficient transaction processing, GE said.

GE also will offer Centricity Business Managed Care as a remotely hosted option allowing organizations to utilize the tools and workflow gains without the capital investment required for traditional IT solutions.
