GE launches womens imaging ultrasound tech
GE Healthcare has released HDlive and Volume SRI (Speckle Reduction Imaging) for women’s health imaging products within its Voluson Expert series platform.

The Waukesha, Wis.-based company showcased the systems at the 2011 International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology Congress in Los Angeles.

The HDlive rendering tool on the Expert Series platform helps with depth perception to help medical professionals understand relational anatomy, GE said, and is available on the Voluson E8 and E8 Expert.

Volume SRI (Speckle Reduction Imaging) utilizes volumetric, multi-plane imaging to enhance the speckle reduction in clinical images. The tool helps improve 3D/4D image quality in multi-planar studies and rendered mode.

GE also launched new transducer technology optimized for OB/GYN purposes, including RAB6-D, a lightweight transducer, and C4-8-D, a high frequency, small footprint transducer.
