IMPAC Medical Systems, an Elekta company and provider of IT solutions for anatomic pathology (AP) laboratories, and Aperio Technologies have developed an interface between PowerPath, IMPAC’s AP laboratory information system (LIS), and Spectrum, Aperio’s digital pathology information management system.

The interface, now in development at both companies, is designed to optimize workflow and facilitate access of digital slide images and case data between the two systems, Aperio said.

“Interfacing with PowerPath addresses the demands expressed by many of our customers regarding the seamless integration of our Spectrum PACS software, which includes the ability to run our FDA-cleared IHC solutions, with a leading LIS,” said Dirk Soenksen, CEO of Aperio.
