Industry news: GE Healthcare, Medstrat, Merge, Sensible Vision
GE Healthcare has partnered with Centennial Medical Center, creating the first national showcase site for GE’s Service Model Optimization (SMO) strategy that addresses four main areas important to hospitals: Capital planning, cost savings, compliance and staff satisfaction. Hospitals will gain a clinical asset management approach tailored to their specific needs and decrease costs versus using in-house services.

Medstrat launched a new suite of orthopedic digital x-ray systems which offer an affordable digital imaging solution to orthopedic practices of all sizes.

Merge Healthcare will unveil its newest software solutions at the European College of Radiology Annual Conference, held in Vienna, Austria, March 9-12. Merge will show RIS, PACS, EPR, Mammography, PET/CT, Orthopaedic and connectivity software. The software allows the integration of pre-medical, clinical, rehabilitation and follow-up treatment.

Sensible Vision’s FastAccess biometric facial recognition software, which will replace the need to type in user passwords by scanning each person’s face for login, is being introduced at the HIMSS show in New Orleans next week. The software gives healthcare professionals an instant, hands-free way of securely accessing sensitive healthcare records, and when the user steps away, the computer is immediately secured to prevent unauthorized access.
