The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) has announced a partnership with Common Ground Health Clinic in New Orleans, a free clinic in the Algiers neighborhood, located on the West Bank of New Orleans, to help provide needed supplies and technology. All donations to the clinic will be managed through the HIMSS Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the organization.

Most of the patients seen at the clinic have no health insurance and depend on receiving patient care at Common Ground. The almost all-volunteer staff sees approximately 200 patients per week; for many, this neighborhood clinic has become their home for primary care. The consistent need of supplies, medicines and other basics, including technology for patient records, provided HIMSS with an opportunity to truly support this clinic, HIMSS said.
