Interventional device developer InspireMD of Tel Aviv, Israel, reported that it has received European Union CE Mark approval for its MGuard coronary stent.

The MGuard coronary stent is designed to provide an embolic shower protection during and post stenting procedures, according to InspireMD. The firm said that the approval clears the way to market the MGuard device in other countries that recognize the CE Mark in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa.
