Medtronic, Boston Scientific duke it out in more patent battles
Medtronic has filed suit against Boston Scientific and Abbott Laboratories, accusing the companies of infringing its drug-eluting stent patent. Simultaneously, Boston Scientific filed suit in federal court, alleging that Medtronic has infringed on 10 patents involving grafts to repair aneurysms.

The Minneapolis-based Medtronic is seeking unspecified damages and an order stopping the infringement, according to the complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Marshall, Texas.

Another patent suit between the two companies is still unfolding. In May, a federal jury came out in favor of Medtronic over a catheter patent lawsuit the company filed against the Natick, Mass.-based Boston Scientific. The jury awarded Medtronic $250 million, but Boston Scientific is appealing.
