Minn. hospital deploys Toshiba CT for ED, stroke imaging

Fairview Health Services has installed the Aquilion One dynamic volume CT system from Toshiba America Medical Systems at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, Minn.

The system, which includes dose reduction technology, is used to perform whole brain perfusion, CT angiography and general exams in the emergency department at the hospital.

Toshiba’s Aquilion One covers up to 16 cm of anatomy with a 0.5 mm detector, according to the Tustin, Calif.-based company. Its Tech Assist Lateral Slide allows clinicians and technologists to move the patient table horizontally and position the anatomy in the middle of the gantry without manually moving the patient.
