NEC previews 5mp monitor
NEC Display Solutions previewed its 5 megapixel monitor at SIIM 2007 in Providence, R.I., last week. The monitor will be ready for release around September and will round out the company’s line in gray scale displays, according to Stan Swiderski, product manager of medical and professional displays.
The NEC MultiSync MD Series of medically certified LCD monitors is designed exclusively for the demanding needs of the diagnostic professional. The 21.3-inch gray scale, 2 megapixel and 3 megapixel displays feature the X-Light backlight system for consistent brightness and white point levels through the life of the monitor.
The 90 Series is the most popular. It comes with a 4-year warranty which Swiderski said shows the quality of the monitors.
Swiderski said that more users are moving to color and to large format. “We come from color where other vendors come from gray scale,” he said. “That allows us to be a formidable player.” Wide panels are less expensive to manufacture and they offer more display space.
