New speech recognition tool debuts from Voicebrook
Speech recognition technology firm Voicebrook has launched VoiceOver Enterprise version 2.0, an integrated set of tools designed to work with many of the leading computerized patient record (CPR) systems.

VoiceOver Enterprise creates medical documentation within an existing hospital information system (HIS) by voice. Built on standard Windows programming conventions, VoiceOver Enterprise is compatible with virtually all electronic medical records (EMRs), CPRs, computerized physician order entry (CPOE), radiology information systems (RIS) and PACS. Voicebrook Professional Services also can configure and customize the product to individual healthcare providers.

Database plug-ins also are available for a variety of medical disciplines and specialty practices. Plug-ins extend the functionality of the VoiceOver product by providing a SQL (Structured Query Language)-compliant database for both stand-alone reporting and integration with medical documentation systems. All plug-ins support the HL7 messaging standard (version 2.1 or higher) for secure data transfer between a desktop workstation and back-end medical information systems.

VoiceOver 2.0 supports radiology, cardiology, pathology and general medicine.
