Orthocrat brings 3rd dimension to TraumaCad
Orthocrat demonstrated a work-in-progress version of TraumaCad 3D at RSNA 2006. TraumaCad is the company’s digital orthopedic surgical planning system.

According to Orthocrat, the first edition of TraumaCad 3D, which is scheduled for the commercial release in February 2007, will focus on total hip replacements (THR). A second edition of the software is scheduled for release in August 2007. The second edition will include advanced THR and four additional 3D templating and preoperative planning applications: total knee replacement, spinal surgery, deformity correction and foot osteotomies.

TraumaCad 3D can be integrated with any PACS and display images from a full range of modalities. The advanced software provides surgeons with the specific tools, instruments, and implants needed to plan a full range of orthopedic surgeries, enabling preoperative plans to be archived with patient files and viewed in the operating room, shortening procedure time, Orthocrat said.
