Partnerships & Alliances: Catalis, Consorta, Medima, MedTrade Middle East, Varian, Wayport
Consorta, a healthcare group purchasing and resource management organization, has inked a purchasing agreement with Varian Medical Systems for advanced radiotherapy systems for treating cancer and neurological disorders. The agreement covers all of Varian’s equipment and software for image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT), and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), as well as Varian’s brachytherapy equipment and software. The agreement will bring Varian’s Clinac and Trilogy medical linear accelerators, the Acuity simulator, Eclipse treatment planning software, and the ARIA oncology information system to Consorta Members.


Medima Solutions has signed a distribution agreement with the Syrian company MedTrade Middle East. MedTrade will distribute Medima Solutions’ PacsPrinter virtual printer for their PACS systems and the documents scanning system PacsScanner in the Middle East market.


Wayport, a network services provider, announced an agreement with Catalis, developer of the graphical health record (GHR), to utilize Wayport’s technology and network capabilities, including the support of wireless devices that enable Catalis’s electronic health records system. The joint product release called Catalis Accelerator GHR is an intuitive application that operates on a chart-like wireless 802.11 b/g tablet PC. The Accelerator GHR performs a variety of physician functions, such as recording a patient’s physical exam and history, plus exchanging patient information with pharmacies and laboratories.
