A recent report by the Millennium Research Group predicts that the number of physicians using an electronic medical records system will increase to 30 percent by 2011. The report, “US Markets for Physician Practice IT Solutions 2007,” credits growing awareness, lower costs, and more streamlined systems as reasons for the increase. The report also indicated that price is still a significant barrier for smaller, non-hospital affiliated practices.
