Poll: Americans willing to put up with regulation to cure healthcare system
Most Americans would like to see key industries regulated, especially healthcare areas such as pharmaceuticals and insurance, according to a Wall Street Journal/Harris Interactive poll.

Fifty-one percent of poll respondents would be happy to see tougher the pharmaceutical industry, whereas 46 percent want the same for the insurance sectors. Hospitals themselves seem to be viewed more positively with only 28 percent of respondents wanting to see tougher regulations.

Other results focus even more on the anger towards the pharmaceutical and insurance industries. The poll indicates that just 8 percent of respondents feel drug makers are honest and trustworthy overall. Even worse, only 4 percent believe that managed-care companies can be trusted. For hospitals, there is more relatively good news in that 34 percent view them as generally trustworthy.
