Radiation therapy service provider Radiation Therapy Services (RTS) said that it has acquired a footprint in the Northern California market with its acquisition of a radiation therapy treatment center in Redding, Calif. The market penetration represents the second new local market entry for Fort Myers, Fla.-based RTS this year, according to the company.

The freestanding facility in Redding currently treats approximately 30 patients per day, RTS said. The facility currently provides intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and high-dose rate brachytherapy programs. The acquisition was financed by RTS’ existing revolving credit facility and it said it did not assume any debt in the transaction.
