RSNA: Cerner features new storage solution, updated RIS/PACS
Cerner (Booth #5910) is showcasing its new storage as a service solution, ImageAware Virtual Archive, along with many new features to its RIS/PACS at the 2009 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference.

The ImageAware Virtual Archive is for image and media connectivity, storage, management and distribution, the Kansas City, Mo.-based company said. The service allows clients to remote host diagnostic images, media (ECG, Fetal and other waveforms, wound care photos, pathology images), scanned documents and image-enabled EMR for a small monthly fee. The ImageAware Virtual Archive provides a centralized image storage and management platform for Cerner solutions.

Along with featuring the ImageAware Virtual Archive, Cerner has updated its RIS/PACS, including electronic peer review, bookmarking, fusion functionality, and its new 510(k) approved mammography solution.
