RSNA: NovaRad unveils breast imaging viewer, new storage services
NovaRad (Booth 7109) is introducing the NovaVault vendor-neutral archive service, an onsite and offsite storage and off-line disaster recovery of data, and the NovaMG breast imaging viewer at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Nov. 28 to Dec. 3.

The company said its NovaVault, which is compatible with DICOM-compliant PACS, includes:
  • Onsite storage in cases of failure of the primary PACS, and includes a web-based administration console, management tools and referring physician portal option.
  • Offsite storage that includes DICOM query and data storage backup at NovaRad’s Data Center offering layers of security, redundant servers, environmental controls and backup power supply.
  • Off-line disaster recovery for recovery of files.

The NovaMG breast imaging viewer combines the tool set of NovaPACS with mammographic reading and hanging protocol sequences, according to the American Fork, Utah-based NovaRad. FDA 510(k) cleared and IHE compliant, it supports multi-modality viewing and iCad and R2 structured reports. The viewer enables a receipt of digital mammographic images from the modality while pre-fetching from the PACS archive is initiated via DICOM modality worklist.

Offered as an option to NovaRad’s existing radiologist view stations, the NovaMG viewer provides pixels viewing that allows for searching of image pixels and incorporates Tabár’s systematic viewing masks to enhance perception of subtle radiographic abnormalities, the company said.
