S.C. BlueCross to offer PHRs, will partner with ParadigmHealth for new platform
BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina plans to electronically integrate PHRs with medical care plans, making them system available to its members and healthcare professionals. Once the payor has rolled out this service for its members, S.C. BlueCross will partner with ParadigmHealth, a provider of care and disease management services, to make the integrated care management platform available to other insurance companies.

The PHR is scheduled to be available to members of S.C. BlueCross and to a number of other Blues plans in its National Alliance division by the end of the year. S.C. BlueCross members will be able to access their PHRs, containing clinical and lab information, along with their claims data.

S.C. BlueCross and ParadigmHealth have signed a multi-year agreement to develop and implement the new healthcare management technology platform.

The integrated care management platform will enable the provider to integrate case management, disease management, maternity management and high-acuity complex care management data on a single IT platform.
