The Society for Computer Applications in Radiology (SCAR) has announced the opportunity for two $40,000 research grants for 2006. As it has in the past, SCAR is continuing its program to produce innovative research that promises benefits throughout the medical enterprise, the organization said.
This year's recipients will receive the first of two grant payments on July 1, 2006, and the second payment will be made six months later, depending on a consideration of progress.
All research involving medical imaging informatics is eligible for support, as well as development of new hardware, software, or processes to support medical practice, education, or research, SCAR said.
According to the organization, SCAR research grants are exclusively for residents, fellows, graduate students, or junior faculty in departments of diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology, or nuclear medicine. Preference is given to projects at SCAR member institutions and projects that contribute to the development of careers of new or prospective researchers.
The deadline for applications for 2006 grants is August 1, 2005. For more information: http://www.scarnet.org/Grants.html
