Siemens announces U.S. MRI contest
Siemens Medical Solutions has opened voting for a facility in the United States to win an MRI system in a contest at www.WinAnMRI.com. Voting starts Oct. 22 and ends Dec. 31.

Healthcare facilities in need of an MRI system can enter the contest by submitting videos, two minutes in length or shorter, that display their creativity and dedication to patient care. Videos will be accepted until Nov. 30.

Individuals from across the United States will view the videos on the site and vote for the facility they believe most deserves the MRI system. The healthcare facility whose video receives the most votes will be awarded a Siemens Magentom Essenza MRI system.

“The worldwide fascination with the online video medium provides a unique way for us to bring the stories of these small hospitals to life,” said Jeffrey Bundy, vice president, magnetic resonance division, Siemens Medical Solutions. “There are currently more than 1,500 hospitals in the U.S. that do not offer MRI services – an essential component to a full-service healthcare facility in any community. The winner of this contest will open the doors to a new level of medical service, sparing people from having to travel to facilities for care that can be had right at home.”

The winner will be announced in mid-January, the company said.
