Siemens shows new DR and MR offerings
CHICAGO, Nov. 29—Siemens Medical Solutions shared Ysio wi-D, a 14 x 17 cm two detector digital x-ray solution. By comprising both a standard detector in the bucky and a second wireless detector, the new system eliminates ceiling cables. Ysio wi-D has not received 510k clearance yet, but Siemens anticipates approval in summer 2008.
Responding to cost pressures in the MRI arena, the company also unveiled for showgoers the Magnetom Essenza. Designed to reduce acquisition barriers, the 8-channel 1.5T system is priced $500,000 less than other 1.5T systems.
