Siemens Medical Solutions USA Inc. and the University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) have established a five-year technology partnership in medical imaging and information technology (IT) services for a new $200 million cardiovascular center. The facility would be located in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Siemens plans to contribute its Axiom Artis dFC magnetic navigation system, as well as its Artis dFC (flat panel detector system), with Stereotaxis Inc.'s NIOBE magnetic navigation system to the center. Siemens also will offer its Acuson Sequoia echocardiography system and Soarian Cardiology information system designed to address specific clinical, financial and operational workflow challenges of the cardiac care team.
