Terumo nets FDA nod for endoscopic harvesting system
Terumo Cardiovascular Systems has gained FDA approval for its VirtuoSaph Plus Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting System, which increases conduit quality during CABG and peripheral artery bypass graft procedures.

The Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Terumo said that the device utilizes a cut-and-seal technique, minimizes thermal spread and facilitates an endoscopic approach to vessel harvesting.

During a study, the University of Michigan found that use of the technology resulted in a zero thermal spread in a large number of vessel samples, the company reported.

The VirtuoSaph Plus will be marketed throughout the U.S. by Terumo Cardiovascular Systems, and by Terumo globally.
