Toshiba and CMS ink CT software distribution deal
Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. and CMS Inc., a worldwide provider of radiation treatment planning and workflow management systems, have announced a distribution deal that delivers integrated CT imaging and virtual simulation systems to Toshiba’s customers.

The agreement will join the treatment planning capabilities of Toshiba’s Aquilion LB computed tomography (CT) scanner with the features and functionality of CMS’s virtual simulation software and planning workflow management tools.

Toshiba will offer its customers CMS’s FocalSim CT simulation workstation — a PC-based application that includes multi-modality image fusion, patient contouring, CT simulation and plan review modules, along with CMS Direct Access, a distributed workflow management tool that supports remote access to CMS planning applications from any location inside or outside the clinic, according to the companies.
