Agfa expands client base by 150
Agfa HealthCare, a developer of diagnostic imaging and healthcare IT software, has signed more than 150 agreements globally for its health IT tools during the first eight months of the year.

New customers include a range of healthcare providers, from large multi-site facilities and regional care providers, to medium size facilities and imaging centers, according to the Mortsel, Belgium-based company.

Systems sold include the company’s Impax PACS and its associated RIS and nuclear information system; Impax Cardiovascular; Impax Data Center, which manages diagnostic image access and distribution across the enterprise and Orbis, Agfa’s hospital and clinical information system.

In North America, nearly 40 new agreements were sealed. In the U.S., the company said its Impax products are being installed at eight Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals, as well as the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, a nonprofit 1,300-bed academic medical center employing 2,000 physicians and scientists and handling 4.2 million patient visits per year.

Multiple agreements for the company's cardiology products were also signed at various hospital sites across the U.S., Agfa stated.
