Electronics manufacturer Texas Instruments has updated its medical imaging software toolkit, version 2.0 STK, expanding on the toolkit's collection of imaging algorithms for its processing architecture and digital signal processors.

The Dallas-headquartered company said the updated software will enable B-mode ultrasound processing, 3D rendering and processing for optical coherence tomography. The new algorithms also will facilitate image transformations, such as rotation, scaling or shifting, to allow for portable OB/GYN visualizations, as well as needle and catheter guidance.
