ART names new president and CEO

ART Advanced Research Technologies Inc., a Canadian medical device company and a provider of optical molecular imaging products, announced today that it has accepted the resignation by Micheline Bouchard as president & chief executive. The company has subsequently appointed Sébastien Gignac as president & CEO, who will also serve on the company’s Board of Directors.

Gignac previously serviced as vice president, corporate secretary and general counsel of ART. He joined the company in July 1998 as legal counsel. In March 2000, he was appointed Secretary of the company and became an ART officer.  In December 2001, he was appointed vice president, with specific responsibility for the divestiture of the company’s ISIS industrial division. In March 2003, in addition to his existing titles and responsibilities, he was appointed general counsel and was given responsibility for quality and regulatory affairs. In January 2004, he added to his responsibilities the role of overall strategic alliance manager with the company’s key partner, GE, as well as the management of ART’s intellectual property and communications, ART said.
