Amicas sees multiple large hospital PACS installs
Amicas Inc. saw record sales in Q4 2005 for its Vision Series PACS. The sales included multiple deals to large hospital systems. The quarter also saw the company expanding its offerings with complementary products such as computed radiography (CR) and imaging accessories sold with Vision Series PACS, the company said.

One of the largest orders was a multi-facility agreement for Vision Series PACS with Essent Healthcare of Nashville, Tenn. At Essent Healthcare, the PACS will be integrated with their new Meditech HIS/RIS and EMR for access to patient data and images. Amicas will also be providing comprehensive computed radiography with PACS products and services to empower Essent’s complete transformation to digital operations.

Amicas Vision Series PACS was chosen at United Regional Health Care System, located in Wichita Falls, Texas, which provides healthcare services across a broad geographic region in Texas. There, the company’s PACS will be integrated with Siemens Medical Systems HIS & RIS and consolidated onto a single IBM storage and computing infrastructure.

At Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMCC) located in Buffalo, New York, a Level One Trauma Center with over 600 licensed beds, the Vision Series PACS will be integrated to their Meditech HIS/RIS.
