The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) has made some changes to its continuing education (CE) Request for Approval (RFA) packet and services, including revising the fee schedule, adding new approval options and improving customer service features.

The CE activity submission process will be simplified for radiologic science professionals, corporate providers and institutions submitting activities for CE approval. Sponsors are now able to choose a three-year approval period, in addition to the annual or two-year approval options for live-lecture and self-learning activities. Sponsors choosing the longer CE approval period will not have to submit an RFA form every year, resulting in cost savings, and live-lecture sponsors can still submit a single activity, course or seminar for one-time approval, according to ASRT.

On the customer service front, ASRT has assigned a customer relations manager to serve as the dedicated point of contact for CE sponsors. The manager will answer questions, assist with submissions and guide sponsors through the RFA process.

The updates became effective May 1.

ASRT is one of 14 organizations approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a Recognized Continuing Education Evaluation Mechanism, and one of four organizations that awards Category A+ CE credit.
