Cardiac Science, NextGen partner for cardiac EMR solutions
CHICAGO—Cardiac Science, a provider in advanced cardiac diagnosis, resuscitation, rehabilitation and informatics products, has completed certification for its HeartCentrix ECG informatics software with NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, according to an announcement made at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Scientific Sessions this week.

NextGen is a developer and provider of computer-based practice management and electronic medical record (EMR) systems for medical group practices and healthcare systems. The NextGen EMR system is used by more than 1,500 clients nationwide, including many leading cardiology practices, according to Bothell, Wash.-based Cardiac Science.

The current clients will be readily able to take advantage of connectivity to the HeartCentrix informatics software, and the integration will be leveraged through Cardiac Science’s installed base of customers, Cardiac Science said.

The company said that HeartCentrix—which enables seamless data transfer from Burdick and Quinton electrocardiograph devices, cardiac stress and Holter monitoring devices to physician EMR software—can be installed with a new NextGen EMR implementation, or into an existing NextGen account.
