In November, Elekta will begin the installation of three linear accelerator systems at Diagnostic and Therapeutic Center of Athens at Hygeia S.A. The installation includes an information management system and a long-term service contract.

The contract is valued at more than £8 million ($11.29 million US).

Hygeia is a private 400-bed hospital based in Marousi, Greece, near Athens.

The Stockholm, Sweden-based Elekta said its Axesse system applies image-guided stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic radiation therapy. Hygeia will also install the Elekta Synergy for intensity modulated and image-guided radiation therapy.
