GE Healthcare nets Havasu Regional Medical install
Havasu Regional Medical Center has installed the Infinia Hawkeye 4 SPECT/CT scanner from GE Healthcare.

The camera focuses on the body's functions rather than its physical structures, according to GE Healthcare. It detects energy emitted by a low-dose radioactive isotope injected into the patient before the scan, which identifies specific organs in the body.

This new addition allows the radiology department to scan patients who cannot effectively undergo CT or MRI scans due to allergies to the injected dye used to create contrast, according to the Lake Havasu City, Ariz.-based center.
