The U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) has closed investigations into the G. V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, Miss., that were triggered by whistleblower complaints about possible inadequate radiology care, among other concerns.

OSC’s Carolyn Lerner sent a letter to the president about the complaints at the Jackson facility and elsewhere, according to WAPT News. The letter stated that the Department of Veterans Affairs failed to use whistleblower information to address patient care concerns, however, officials at the VA facility issued a statement saying the VA took action on the recommendations when they came last summer.

Multiple whistleblower complaints were filed against the medical center, including concerns that x-ray and CT scans were not being properly read by the radiology department. Others complained of poor sterilization procedures and understaffing in the primary care unit.
