Maryland facility employs upgraded Agfa ECG management system
Western Maryland Regional Medical Center in Cumberland, Md., has upgraded to the latest version of the Impax HeartStation ECG management system from Agfa HealthCare.

The newest version of the system--which allows the diagnosis and treatment of patients with posterior wall heart attacks--can analyze and prioritize 12- and 15-lead ECG exams as they come into the system and alert healthcare providers if a patient is experiencing a life-threatening or other critical condition. The technology also allows physicians to view ECGs and prescribe emergency room treatment from any location, stated the Mortsel, Belgium-based company.
