Newark Beth Israel Medical Center selects Amicas PACS
Newark (N.J.) Beth Israel Medical Center has awarded an installation contract to Web-based PACS firm Amicas Inc.

The 669-bed regional care and teaching hospital has more than 800 physicians and handles more than 300,000 outpatient visits and 23,000 admissions annually. The facility will use Amicas Vision Series PACS to implement its digital radiology strategy across the enterprise.

Once the Amicas Vision Series PACS is installed, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center says it will eliminate film-based workflow and rely on a real-time and enterprise-wide digital imaging workflow for diagnosis and information access.

The facility expects to reduce patient turnaround time by an average of four to eight hours per study and eliminate its reliance on film within two months of going live with the Vision Series PACS.
