QuadraMed to assist Iasis' coding transition
Iasis Healthcare, which operates 16 healthcare facilities across six states, has selected QuadraMed's coding, compliance and reporting technologies to improve coding practices and transition to the ICD-10 code sets in 2013.

QuadraMed, a Reston, Va.-based health IT company, is planning to implement Quantim Coding in Iasis facilities within the next 30 days. Quantim Compliance, Ad Hoc Report Writer and the ICD-10 Simulator tools will be implemented in all facilities by the end of this year.

QuadraMed's ICD-10 Simulator enables hospital coders to learn and practice ICD-10 coding in a live production environment, QuadraMed stated. According to the company, the structure of Quantim's coding tool will help the Franklin, Tenn.-based Iasis staff to manage the increase in the number of codes for coding and billing purposes when ICD-10 becomes mandatory on October 1, 2013.

The Quantim ICD-10 Coding Simulator, which is remotely hosted, comes with embedded coding guidelines, ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS code books, and GEMs (general equivalence mapping) bi-directional translation capabilities, according to QuadraMed.
