St. Luke's Episcopal Health System selects Dell technology to decrease patient wait times
Dell Technology reported that they have launched a comprehensive set of technology programs that are expected to dramatically improve the system's ability to serve patients at St. Luke's Episcopal Health System in Houston.

The primary project involved establishing a new electronic bed-management system that allows members of the staff to manage the inventory of available hospital beds, helping to ensure that patients are admitted more quickly to the hospital according to Dell. BedCentral by MediLogistics utilizes St. Luke's secure wireless infrastructure to deliver web-based content from Dell PowerEdge servers to Dell Axim handhelds. The system provides hospital staff with important patient information in real-time, from the moment patients are admitted to the point of discharge.

Besides the bed-management project, Dell and St. Luke's have completed a variety of other technology projects, including establishing a secure wireless network to enable Dell Axim handhelds, and deployment  of Dell notebooks on mobile carts to facilitate patient care.
