Jeff Blair, vice president of the Medical Records Institute, has been reappointed by the U.S. House of Representatives to a third 4-year term on the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics (NCVHS). Blair is currently co-chair of the NCVHS Subcommittee on Standards and Security. As part of his involvement with the committee, Blair has played a leadership role in the evaluation, selection and recommendation of the clinical data standards that have been adopted by the federal government as the Consolidated Health Informatics (CHI) standards. He also had a part in the development of e-prescribing standards required for the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act (MMA).
