A three-year-old startup, Butterfly Network, recently announced $100 million in funding to create a new handheld device that the company says will make MRI and ultrasounds cheaper and more efficient.
As reported in Wired, the device would use sophisticated artificial intelligence and on-screen instructions to guide users through the medical imaging process. The real-time 3D images created would then be sent to a cloud service to help automate diagnosis.
