Kodak sees numerous orders for CR mammography outside U.S.
Eastman Kodak Company has announced orders from 28 healthcare facilities internationally — in France, Germany, and Finland — that have purchased its KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR Mammography Feature for the company’s CR 850/950/975 Systems. Kodak has offered mammography functionality as an optional feature on these systems outside the United States and Canada since May 2005, the company said.

Kodak has applied to the U.S. FDA for approval of its CR system for mammography and the company is currently conducting clinical trials at several sites in the U.S. and Canada.

The feature is designed to help healthcare facilities to see cost and workflow improvements by capturing mammography and general radiography exams with the same CR platform. Capturing mammography images does require the use of specialized KODAK mammography cassettes and screens, the company said.
