Merge files first of overdue reports, requests another extension
Merge Technologies Inc. announced yesterday that it has filed its Annual Report on Form 10-K for 2005 as well as its Q1 2006 numbers on Form 10-Q.  The company just hit the NASDAQ deadline for filing the reports and restatements, which were due yesterday. The company said that its Q2 filing is further delayed and has requested an extension from NASDAQ to submit the materials on Sept. 8. Merge hopes to regain compliance with the NASDAQ listing requirements by submitting the report.
   
The filing of the 2005 and Q1 numbers boded well for Merge on the exchange, as the company saw an 8 percent uptick in its stock yesterday at 7.70 in the afternoon, up from 7.12 at closing on Tuesday.
