SCAR funds annual grants to support medical research
The Society for Computer Applications in Radiology (SCAR) has funded original research in radiology informatics with two $40,000 grants for 2005.

SCAR said the research grants are open to residents, fellows, and faculty in departments of diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology, or nuclear medicine, as well as graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in imaging informatics or biomedical engineering. Residents, fellows, and students must conduct their projects under the guidance of experienced investigators, according to SCAR.

At the conclusion of their work, grant recipients are asked to submit a paper to be considered for presentation at the SCAR Annual Meeting and publication in the Journal of Digital Imaging.

The deadline for applications for 2005 grants is Sept. 7th. Additional information is available at the organization's Web site, www.scarnet.org.
