Survey: Readers split over whether much progress will be made in portable EHRs
Asked if they foresee eight years down the road that each American having a portable electronic health record (EHR), readers are split over whether they believe the answer is "yes" (49 percent) that is likely or "no" (51 percent) it's not. That seems to suggest that there is no overwhelming confidence in efforts to implement technology-based healthcare systems on a national scale. Or, this could represent a lack of faith in the government or private sector to deliver, or reflect a general sense that there are so many overlapping initiatives towards EHRs that the dust will have to settle before we know which way is up.
