Vocera showcases wireless communications system
Wireless voice communications firm Vocera Communications Inc. at HIMSS displayed its Vocera Nurse Call Integration Module as part of its hands-free, voice-controlled communications system.

The Vocera Communications System enables mobile healthcare providers within buildings or campuses to instantly connect with one another using simple voice commands. The systems uses wireless LAN (Wi-Fi), Voice over IP (VoIP) and speech recognition to communicate anywhere within a 802.11b-networked facility.

The Vocera Communications Badge weighs less than two ounces and can be clipped to a shirt pocket or collar or worn on a lanyard, enabling hands-free voice communication.
